Click here for Transition update...July 10,2019

June 2019

We are excited to share with you that earlier today The Board of Trustees of The Methodist Oaks approved to sell its assets to a newly formed entity, The Oaks of Orangeburg, LLC. The transition to the new entity will take about a year to complete.

Over the past few years there have been challenges and changes in the healthcare system and today’s announcement represents our response to those challenges.

This transition to a different type of entity has been developed with a vision for growth. We see the additional resources as an asset to continue and enhance the great services and care we are providing to our residents. The top priority has been, and will continue to be our residents and our staff.

We have been thorough and systematic when finding a partner for this deal. Throughout all of this, our focus has always been on what is best for our residents. There will be an interim period of transition in which we will be engaging with our residents and staff to continue to make sure we are offering the best possible services to meet the needs of our residents.

The newly formed entity The Oaks of Orangeburg, LLC is led by Clay Fowler, the long-time owner and operator of Longwood Plantation Assisted Living and Magnolia Place Memory Care in Orangeburg.

Our Board spoke with a number of organizations, and Mr. Fowler’s ongoing commitment to Orangeburg, extensive background in hospital operations and his track record of excellent care made this the very best fit.

“We want to assure residents of our commitment to a vision that the Oaks of Orangeburg continue to operate as a Continuing Care Retirement Community and a PACE Program with all of its current components,” said Mr. Fowler.

When there is more information to share, we will update you. In the meantime, thank you for your support and trust in us.
